A collection of high-quality Oz content

A queer safe space.

The Oz Archive

Created by: Tyler Varney

In 2006, at 8 years old, I built my first version of this website. At the time, I didn’t know how I’d use my love for “The Wizard of Oz,” but I knew it was more to me, than just my favorite movie. In 2021, I launched The Oz Archive - a comprehensive collection of Oz content, dedicated to the queer and the colorful. Five years and 120k+ followers later, and I am so proud to find myself launching an official website, with plans to do so much more in the future.

So, welcome to The Oz Archive, where my goal has always been to gather and share reliable materials - movie promotion, concept art, television commercials, etc. - that showcase what Oz has contributed to pop culture over the past 125 years. That being said, this is also a queer safe space, because Oz wouldn’t exist in the way it does today, without the queer community. This perspective informs my selections, interpretations, and the voices I amplify without imposing narrow readings on Baum's original works. I am always open to expanding my own understanding of how Oz has been read, reimagined, and interpreted by diverse communities across generations.

Thank you for stopping by, and for joining me on this archiving journey on social media! Be sure to follow @TheOzArchive on all social platforms. For further contact, reach out to me through the form below, or email me at TheOzArchive@gmail.com.
